Watts Equipment, owned by Marolyn and Brock Watts, donated two Toyota electric forklifts to the Salvation Army, one for the warehouse and the other for the shelter.

The nearly $50,000 donation came after the business got a tour from Annette Murdaca, who is on the advisory board, and Williams, of the food banks grounds.

"When we saw the great work and the things they are doing here, we couldn't do anything but help. It's all about community", said Shirley Perreira, vice president of the Watts company.

Brock Watts echoed that sentiment, stating that without his employees and the magnificent work they do, none of this is possible. "We are very fortunate. It's all about people", he said.

An emotional Murdaca said, "You don't know how much this means to us, because it has been a long road. With the number of people we are serving, we have been just limping by. For Brock and his family to do this, just reaffirms God saying", You're doing the right thing. "Lodi is so good when you ask for something. It is extremely generous of Brock"

Williams told the group gathered that a few years ago, the Salvation Army gave out 150-200 "Sally sacks a week. Today they hand out 200 a day. The two forklifts the nonprofit has now will be sent to Oakland and shared there.
